Teslas have a huge range of functions that you don’t see in other cars like Smart Summon, Sentry Mode, Joe Mode, Tesla Theater and Tesla Arcade. However, Tesla Karaoke is in a league of its own!
Released in late 2019 with a big software upgrade with lots of new features ( in version 10), Tesla Car-aoke or Caraoke enables Tesla owners to sing Karaoke right inside your Tesla. That is why Elon Musk always says Tesla vehicles are the most fun a car you can have in a car!

What Are The Tesla Karaoke Requirements
There are a few requirements to get car Karaoke running. You will need:
- Software version 10 or higher (which should be every Tesla now)
- MCU 2 – the chip in all entertainment system added in late 2018
- Tesla’s Premium Connectivity package or access to wifi to stream music
Where To Find Tesla Karaoke
On your screen inside your Tesla you can access Caraoke in the following location:
- Tap one the Music icon on the screen (using the bottom icons)
- Choose Caraoke from the tabs on the bottom

Tesla Caraoke Songs
Tesla Caraoke is actually based on a web Karaoke system from StingRay. This includes 1000s of songs that are in categories and mixes. So, no matter what you like, there is always one song you can sing along to!
There are also specific types of music like Disney classics and Duets, in case you are Supercharging your Tesla and want to kill some time with your travel buddy! A Duet is never a waste of time, right? Especially on a long road trip! Or just having a good time while you are waiting for your electric car to charge!
Searching For A Caraoke Song
Tesla has added an extra search option in the global music search so that you can also search within the Caraoke massive library of music and song lyrics.
How To Mute Vocals From Karaoke Songs
By default, Tesla plays the original vocals with the songs in Caraoke. However, normally you don’t have the vocals in Karaoke, so wouldn’t it be great to turn them off?
To turn off the vocals in Tesla Caraoke you have to tap the Microphone Icon on the top right.

For those of you who wanted the added fun of using Karaoke microphones while using Karaoke Tesla launched TeslaMic in January 2022 for just this purpose. It includes two TeslaMics and is priced at just under $200 at the moment.
