Tesla Events: All In One List

Tesla has held many technical and launch events over the years. And sometimes, it is hard to keep track of them all. From product unveiling and launch, to first deliveries. Also, recruiting events for the battery production and AI teams. There is a lot to see and absorb on this page.

This list is an attempt to keep all the Tesla Events, event titles, dates and descriptions in one place.

Tesla AI Day 2

Date: September 30th, 2022

The most recent version of Tesla’s AI Day was held in September of 2022. Tesla unveiled two prototypes of the Tesla Bot, aka Optimus as well as detailing more of what is happening with FSD and Dojo.

Tesla AI Day

Date:  August 19th, 2021

The original Tesla AI Day was held in August of 2021 with the aim of recruiting top talent in the AI industry. Tesla went into more detail on the progress of the FSD software as well as progress on the new Dojo supercomputer. At the end of the presentation a “human in a robot suit” was the unveiling of the upcoming Optimus Tesla Robot project.

Tesla Model S Plaid Unveil & Delivery Event

Date:  June 10th, 2021

The Model S Plaid was a long time coming. This completely reworked version of the Model S looked very similar to the original, but went like a rocket. People had ordered the Model S Plaid sight unseen and this event was an opportunity to deliver the first cars and really show what this insanely fast Tesla electric vehicle could do.

Tesla Battery Day

Date:  September 22nd, 2020

Tesla Battery day was a truly inspiring event. Tesla unveiled their plans here to reduce the price of Lithium batteries by a further 50% over the next 5 years. They showed how through a variety of methods and ideas, from engineering to battery manufacturing, they can accomplish this.

Already some of these ideas are in place with the 4680 battery line in Freemont and Texas as well as the new structural packs in the Model Y electric vehicles.

Tesla Cybertruck Unveil Event

Date:  November 21st, 2019

Another out of this world event from Tesla was the unveiling of the futuristic Cybertruck. With bullet-proof glass, an all-stainless steel oragami body and die cast base, this is a beast you can take into the apocalypse. There were a few surprises and mistakes in this presentation which have since become famous, such as the shattering of the ‘unbreakable’ glass.

The Cybertruck was original scheduled for release in 2021, but has now been pushed back to mid-2023.

Tesla Autonomy Day

Date:  April 22nd, 2019

This was Tesla’s first presentation of their Autonomy or AI plans. The so-called Tesla Vision uisng artificial intelligence and without Lidar, which was very controversial. Musk made some claims and predictions on this day that did not come true, as is often the case. However, it was pivotal in Tesla’s moving forward with their Full Self Driving.

Tesla Model Y Unveil Event

Date: March 14th, 2019

The Model Y was perhaps the unveil that was received with very little hype or attention back in 2019. However, it has since become the best selling Tesla and soon to be the best selling vehicle around the world.

Perhaps it was because it was “just” a variation of the Model 3 with nothing revolutionary added. But it’s utility as a 5-7 seater SUV style vehicle has since shown its worth.

Tesla Semi & Roadster Unveil Event

Date: November 16th, 2017

The Tesla Semi and second generation Roadster were unveiled way back in November of 2017. The revolutionary Tesla Semi was to be the first electric truck with an impressive range of 500 miles. Today, the truck has still not been fully release, but Pepsi is set to take delivery of the first few in late 2022.

The Roadster currently has no release date, although promises to be very impressive when it does hit the road.

Tesla Model 3 Unveil Event

Date: March 31st, 2016

One of the most pivotal moments in Tesla’s history was the mass production of the Model 3. It was what took Tesla from a producer of niche, expensive electric cars, to one for the masses. Or at least the slightly richer masses.

The Model 3 was unveiled way back in March of 2016 and Tesla has never looked back since.

Tesla Model S Delivery Event

Date: June 22nd, 2012

The highly anticipated Model S was first delivered to customers in June of 2012. Tesla as usual made an event out of it which you can see below.
